1.Landscape irrigation System
If you have domestic pump for pumping over head tank cut the PVC pipe above ground level and fit one tee according to the pipe to your garden (or landscape) and clamp up to 1 meter height near any wall of the garden
First take the filter and open it and cheek any dust inside. cheek the inside cartridge of the filter. Apply Teflon tape (white tape) to the both sides of the threads. Check the flow direction and fit to the 1" PVC pipe using necessary PVC fitting .Fit tee 1 x 1/2 to the out let side such a direction that the 1/2" portion is vertical (up word) Fit pressure gauge to the 1/2' up side portion cut 1/2 meter 1" PVC pipe and fit with necessary fittings and paste 1" PVC Ball value to the other end. Clamp the total Head unit to the wall. When clamping please keep 1/2" wooden packing in between pipe and wall so that you can open filters easily for cleaning end.
If you are keeping a separate pump can connect the pump out let to the head unit directly the same way you can fit other Irrigation kits. (i.e. vegetable kit, vegetable Tape Kit ,green house Irrigation kit). Now head unit is above one meter from the ground. Lay 1" pipe along the border side or edge of the landscape. Take care when laying pipe do not enter any debris into the pipe. Now you can cut a portion near Where you are planning the lawn put 1" tee and center portion should be 3/4" and fit 3/4" (Female thread adopter) fit the house adopter provided with the kit .Take the sprinkler base which has 3/4" hose connector fitted the top 1/2" portion warp teflon tape to the sprinkler and tight firmly. Purchase 3/4" flexible hose which will be cover the entire lawn area and connect the hose to the hose connector and put Jubilee clips.
For Micro sprinklers
Cut another portion near to your flowering plants planted area, fit 1" PVC tee ,center portion should be 3/4" extend 3/4" PVC pipe up to a six inch long, put 16mm GTO with adopter which is provided with the kit. Cut the 16mm LLDPE pipe suitable to small shrubs, flowering plants, Borders, etc. This is used to provide micro sprinklers with stands.
For Drippers
Cut the pipe near to potting plants are keeping. Fit one 1" PVC Tee, the center portion of the tee to 3/4" and extend a 6 " 3/4 pvc pipe and put GTO with 12 mm PVC adopter (which is included in the kit) cut the 12mm LLDPE pipe and fit to GTO(GROMT take off) extent the where even need and put the holes with punch to the LLDPE and insert drippers .Do not put drippers below .5m spacing make extension with 3mm micro tube, near about half meter long.
2. Vegetable Irrigation Kit (How to fit)
Make head unit Same as landscape irrigation done, extended the 1" pipe to the place where you are planning to growing vegetables put 1" Tee and GTO with PVC adopter supplied with the kit. Extend 12mm LLDPE pipe put drippers .Before putting dripper should be flush thoroughly. This system is operating 10 to 20 PSI pressure.
3.Vegetable tape Irrigation Kit (How to fit)
Rain Tape TPC Installation & Maintenance Guide
Installation Guidelines
1.Prior to installation, Rain Tape TPC should be kept dry, covered, and if possible palletized.
2.A properly designed and installed filtration system is very essential in order to have trouble-free operation of the system.200 mesh filtration is recommended with Rain Tape TPC.
3.Analyze the physical and chemical properties of the irrigation water to determine chemical treatment requirements. Proper water treatment is necessary to control algae, bacterial slimes and mineral deposits.
4.Insects,rodents and animals can damage thin wall tubing. If pests are present, they must be controlled.
5.All systems should be designed so that flushing of mainlines,sub-mains,manifolds and laterals can be accomplished prior to and after installation of Rain Tape TPC.
6.Pressure regulators and air vaccum relief valves should be properly installed.
7.Rain Tape TPC can be installed above or below ground. If Rain Tape TPC is installed below ground it is very important to pressurize immediately in order; to avoid compaction of the soil, and to determine if any damage occurred during installation.
8.If Rain Tape TPC is installed under plastic coverage, it is recommended to bury the tape 5-cm(2 inches) to avoid excessive heat build up. It is also important to obey pressure limitations under these conditions.
9.The installation tool must be free of nicks and sharp edges or any other unevenness. When installing Rain Tape TPC,the injector tool should allow enough room for the Rain Tape to lay flat inside it. Allow Rain Tape TPC to roll freely during installation to avoid any damage. Do not pull, drag or jerk Rain Tape TPC.
10.Rain Tape TPC should be installed with the emitters facing up.This prevent settling of particles in the emitter which may potentially cause plugging.
11.Do not heavy equipment to run over Rain Tape TPC in above ground or underground installations. The resulting damage to Rain Tape TPC may cause a permanent restriction and/or leaks.
System Start Up:
1.If media filters are being used, it is imperative to flush and backwash the filters to get rid of fine particles. Normally a 0.15-0.2 bar(2 to 3psi)pressure differential across the filter bed is acceptible. But if the difference is higher, it may require more backwashing.
2.Once the system is installed, fill the system slowly to avoid problems related to entrapped air. Flush mainline and sub-mains prior to closing off the ends. Once that is done keep flushing the lateral lines in order to remove any soil particles or debris in the lines.
3.Check the pressure at pump,filters,mainline,sub-mains,and lateral ends. Record these findings and compare with the design calculations. These results can be used for future comparisons to check the system for proper operation. Also check the flow meter if installed.
4.Keep the system running and walk the field to check for leaks or restrictions.
System operation and maintenance
The system should be operated based on properly calculated run times which accounts for soil type, crop type and climate. Maintaining adequate moisture in the soil will assure proper root development and plant growth. Inadequate moisture can cause the roots to search for water by penetrating the tape outlets thereby clogging and restricting flow. Therefore, more frequent shorter run times are recommended.
Pumps, filters, injectors and Rain Tape laterals have to be checked for proper operations and functions. It is essential that filters are flushed and cleaned regularly especially during the growing season. Media filters should be maintained and Checked as recommended by the manufacturer.
Maintain a regular schedule to flush the entire system. Flushing the system will remove accumulated fine particles that may have found their way into the system and cause clogging.
When applying any chemical in to the water, make sure the chemical in the water will not form precipitation to clog the system. A glass jar can be used to check for any precipitation in the water.
Problems and chemical treatments
The two elements, which seem to be the major sources of problems for low volume irrigation systems are:
(1)calcium and magnesium carbonates
(2)Iron and manganese oxides.
Carbonate clogging can be prevented by using acid.
The acids most commonly used to prevent carbonate plugging (clogging)are;
Hydrolic acid; Phosphoric acid; and sulfuric acid. There are two main methods to control iron and manganese oxides.
(1)Aeration and settling
(2)Chlorine treatment and filtration
Aeration and settling-can be accomplished by exposing or mixing the iron bearing water to air so the soluble iron comes in contact with oxygen. This mixing results in the formation of insoluble iron, which will precipitate and settle out. The settling process is done prior to pressurizing of the water and putting it into the filter. the settling basin must be designed to allow enough time for the iron precipitant to settle to the bottom and not be with drawn with the irrigation water.
